Graduate School Online Application System

Welcome to The Rockefeller University's Online Application System (OAS) for The David Rockefeller Graduate Program.

The Rockefeller University is a competitive graduate institution. Students who enter the Ph.D. program must have received a degree of bachelor or master of arts or sciences, or doctor of medicine or equivalent international qualification. In demonstrating merit, applicants should be able to document a high level of achievement in the biological, chemical, mathematical or physical sciences. In addition to these qualifications, applicants will have the opportunity to describe their scientific interests and goals, as well as the unique perspectives they would bring to the Rockefeller community.

To begin the application process you must first register for an account. Once you have completed your registration, you will receive e-mail notification that your registration has been accepted. This e-mail message will contain a link to validate your registration and allow you to continue with your application submission.

Prior to starting the application process, please read the FAQ page to assist you with using the OAS. The next step is to complete all of the required fields for each section of the application form.

All documents listed below must be submitted in order to complete your application:

  • The completed Online Application Form, including a Statement of Purpose comprised of three sections, designed to help us understand you as a scientist, a future Ph.D. student at Rockefeller, and a member of our community. You are asked to:

    • Reflect on your most meaningful research experience and how you approached it. (Limit: 750 words)
    • Describe your scientific interests going forward and how they align with the work of specific Rockefeller faculty. (Limit: 250 words)
    • Share how your background and experiences would enrich the Rockefeller community. (Limit: 250 words)

    Detailed instructions for each section are provided in the Applicant Statements section of the online application.

  • An Official transcript from each college or university you attended and listed in the Educational Information section of your application. You must scan and upload a copy of each official transcript as part of the online application.

  • Recommendations from three or four sponsors who can assess your potential for research.

  • A Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume.

  • The Application Fee is payable by check or credit card (preferred payment method).

General and Advanced Subject Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores and TOEFL scores are not required for admission. GRE and TOEFL scores are not requested on our application and will not be reviewed as part of the admissions process.

Your application is considered complete once we have received the completed application form and the required documents listed above. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Please note that the deadline for receipt of application materials is December 1, 2024.
